A normal day at the store turns deadly for a few store employees. A customer with an innocent seizure turns out to be carrying a deadly load. Watch it all unfold through their group WhatsApp chat. The Shopping Dead is a theatrical play designed specifically for WhatsApp. The audience are voyeurs as narratives unfold before their eyes over the course of an hour. Rather than employ physical bodies these plays allow for the virtual world to be brought to life as text, voice notes, GIFS, memes, and pictures. The Shopping Dead aims to be the first in a range of WhatsApp theatre productions that are accessible for both audience and theatre maker.
